Upper Great Lakes Community Ecosystem Monitoring
This project builds on the networks and approaches that contributed to the success of a recipient pilot project at Garden River First Nation, funded primarily by Round 1 of the Great Lakes Local Action Fund (information here). This project partners with 15 organizations to deliver programming to the broader Algoma Region community, focusing on the creation of community-based water quality monitoring programs at Missanabie Cree First Nation and in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (contributing to the St. Marys River Area of Concern).
FUNDING INFORMATION
This project is funded primarily by the Government of Ontario (Great Lakes Local Action Fund). Additional funding was provided by NSERC PromoScience and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation. Partners and collaborators also support the project in various ways.
